SM4でのSI C&DH-Rへの換装 [nasa.gov]について触れられている文書でもCMOSかどうかまで書かれているものが見付けられなかった。
ただハッブルの予備機(flight spare)に使われているのは実機と異なりコアメモリではなくCMOSメモリらしい。
M3B(2002/03)とSM4(2009/05)の間、52008年10月の記事 [newscientist.com]ではコアメモリが電源喪失に対して頑健である一方CMOSメモリは1990年と2001年に行われた近赤外カメラ&マルチオブジェクトスペクトロメータ(NICMOS [wikipedia.org])の冷却装置のテスト中に不具合がでたようなことが書かれていた。

もっともNASAの解析では、メモリエラーは結果的な現象で、真の原因はコンポーネント間の通信を担うCommand Unit/Science Data Formatter にあるって話になってきてますが。
