Netscape7.1をやめた。ThuderbirdとFirebirdにした。メールフィルターをしこしこセット。新しい構成にしてみた。いい感じ。パベルとIRCでチャットした。以下パベル言記録:I think that the success of OSS is also based on the nature of the development all around the world: people are working on it around hours. Proprietary software is mostly developed in working hours ;-) I'm also building on FreeBSD and Solaris/SPARC, but those machines are more slower than my SUSE Linux. We would like to build on virgin SuSE Linux 8.0 without upgrading Java. My second Linux box is SL 9.0 but I'd like to see if it is still possible to build with 1.3.1. At home, I have: my ntb (SL 9.0 - working on it right now), build machine in the garrage (serverroom, with 8.0 ;-) and Ultra V with Solaris. FreeBSD system is at Faculty of Informatics of masaryk University. I do not have Windows at home, but build system I use is in the same building like FreeBSD machine. I'm testing everything on the fastest system I have (that one with SL 8.0) and then rsync the sources to ftp.linux.cz. From there, I will rsynv to both Windows and FreeBSD machine and run build there. Fix bugs, rsync to ftp.linux.cz. -) I'm selfemployed Open Source consultant. I work for several companies right now - like SUSE, Czech Post and so on. It is really hard to be teacher/professor here in Czech Republic. From financial point of view. I'm doing almost the same things for about eight years ;-) Only the products change under my hands. But I'm trying to concentrate only on OSS. The financial problems in our country are the main reason for it. License changes of other products are the second reason. And of course: the world will migrate soon, so why should Czech Republic be out of the game? ;-) I hope the time I invested in OOo will return the next year when we plan to migrate the offices in one of the largest companies here to OpenOffice.org (the migration is not from Microsoft Office though :-().
