宗教上の理由で海外で売れない日本のゲームといった話題を別々の動画で立て続けに耳にすることがあり奇遇に思った。
まずNES・ファミコンのおすすめRPG10選を語る先週のジョーさんの動画で女神転生を取り上げて：

(15:54-) Of course, due to heavy religious themes and a more adult story, this one had no chance of ever getting released outside of Japan. Still the kind of thing that would cause trouble with religious groups considering the types of bosses in the game. Yahweh, for example, is a possibility.

また昨日投稿されたNES ComplexさんがSNESゲームのベスト20を語る動画の後編で「デモンズブレイゾン 魔界村 紋章編」を第7位に取り上げて：

(3:49-) #7 Demon's Crest. The first time I heard of Demon's Crest was from Nintendo Power's issue 100. They were doing a "Top 100 games of all time" list, and they actually said that the game generated negative sales at one point where more people returned the game than actually bought it. Now it's definitely not cause it is a bad game. The only thing I can guess is that maybe calling it Demon's Crest and having a decidedly satanic figure on the front made some American moms a little nervous. I don't know.
