First Sony NEWS, and now VAIO? Sad! Sony was much better than HP. Sony does better business.
Whenever I use some Sony electronics, it reminds me a little of my old PlayStation 1, and all the happy times I had playing games. Hopefully the VAIO will continue with some of the same design principles and maybe even better engineering.
In the United States, Toshiba is the only Japanese company we can buy computers from. NEC and Fujitsu basically don't get into the North American market, which is sad. NEC's designs

Fujitsu のは PC も tablet も amazon.com で出てきたよ。
NEC の PC を、とりたてて外見がいいと思ったことはないなぁ。今も、9801 時代も。

PC-8001が出てきたときは随分かっこいいものが出てきたなと思いましたよ。
PC-8801 (初代) が出てきたときは初めて本体とキーボードを分離したマイコンを見たので、
かっこいいなあと思いました。
いやキーボード分離型だとH68/TRというのが先か。
あ、TK-80BSも分離型じゃん。今初めて意識した。
ま、まあ当時はすっかりこれらを忘れていてかっこいいと思っていたということで。
主題はかっこいいと思ったかどうかということなので。すごく言い訳がましいですけど。
