日本人みたいに、「私の発言で不快な思いをされた方がいらっしゃったとすれば、お詫びする」と、一見大人の発言だけど「自分は別に悪くないけど、あなたがそういうから謝っとくよ」という、謝ったようで謝っていないテクニックを身につけた方がいいね。

ちょっと本題から外れるけど、下のWikipediaの解説文の英文、すごく読みやすい。
日本語もそうだけど、英文も書き手のセンスってものがあるのだなあと実感。
