まあ、/.Jにいるエンジニアなら英語は壁になってないだろうけど、
日本企業はそういうところばかりじゃないのよ。

「書き」はともかく、「読み」は必須だと思う。
特に、論文や仕様書なんて(一応)ストレートな文章で書いてあるんだから。
たまに、ひどい文学作品クラスのひねった文章だらけの仕様書もあるけど・・・。

ほかにも、ほんとにそれが問題解決と業務の効率化に結びつくのかな、
という難しい知識が要求されましたね。
