達成しようとも犯罪者として社会的制裁を受けるのは正当な結果なんじゃないですかね。
国が同性愛者の研究結果であることを問題視して、別の人間の研究であると公式発表していたり、
国への貢献をなかったことにしていたりしたら、それは確かに正当な扱いではないと思いますが。

さげすむのは私刑とか差別とかと同レベルに低い。現実は、それでもなおどんな社会でも
そうだけれどね。表向きだけでもきちんとしなきゃ。
で、もうコメントがついているとおり、チューリングに関してはホモだからって理由で
コンピュータサイエンスに対する貢献も当時不当に低く扱われた。

署名活動という圧力がなければ、おそらく謝罪はなかった。
署名活動がある程度の規模になった原因は、チューリングの偉大な業績と、不遇の死（に象徴される不当な扱われ方）との落差があったから。
したがって、偉大な業績がなければ、今になって謝罪という形にはならなかったはず。

法による罰だけではなかったのとちゃうかい？
法律で、違法行為を行った者の業績を評価しては行けないとかは、なかったよな。
法による罰則以外の面で、不当に扱われたというのが、問題なんだと思うよ。
現在では違法とすべきではないものを違法としていたという過去の法律の問題もあるだろうが、
むしろ、その法律をたてにやらんでもよい迫害をしていたという問題が大きいのではないかな？

それは因果関係からいっておかしい。
その昔、キリスト教がヨーロッパを支配するまでは、同性愛は別に悪いことではなかった。
ローマ帝国だと基本はまぁ「健全な」家族というのを奨励していたけども
同性愛者を同性愛者であること自体を罪として罰するようなことはなかった。
しかし、キリスト教が広まってから同性愛が罰せられるようになり、いけないこととされるから
マイノリティになったんだ。

斜め読みのまま乱暴に要約すると「政府として表彰でもすべき人をむげに扱った。当時はそうせざるを得ない法律があったから仕方ないけど、すまんことしたよね、ごめん」ということじゃないかな。違ってたら指摘よろ。
