Twitterのつぶやきが十億超える

何してる?って、たれ込み書いてるけど、のSOggy 曰く、

2006年に開設されたTwitterに投稿されたつぶやきが、昨日十億を超えた。残念ながら、十億番目のつぶやきはプロテクトされていて、発言者不明。

GigaTweetの統計では、ここ最近では日に4500万弱のつぶやき(毎秒約520)があるようだ。

さあ、140字では足りない事をここで語れ。

流行のドラゴンボールで比べてみました

「100億」、…と数字だけ言われてもピンとこないので、/.の現時点でのコメント数をドラゴンボールの戦闘力に準えて比較してみました。なお、戦闘力には諸説あるので、一つの見解に過ぎません。

/.J コメント数 約173万 [srad.jp] （フリーザ第3形態、ネイルと合体後のピッコロさんより少し上くらい）

/.org コメント数 約3140万 [slashdot.org] （フリーザ最終形態 手加減状態）

タレ子です。The 10 Billionth (Or So) Tweet [techcrunch.com]を読んで何年ぶりかでタレ込んだのですが、半日して10ビリオンが百億なことに気付き赤面しました。が、しばらくIPアンリーチャブルだったのでどうにもできず、戻ってからも採用されていなかったので、ボツったと判断して訂正を放棄していました。

指摘してくださったTarZさんと編集のhylomさん、お手数かけました。ありがとうございます。

# タレ込みに訂正があるときは、冒頭で訂正の箇所と理由を示して再度タレ込んでいたのですが、/.-Jをまともに使っていなかった間に、アレたまなんて仕組みになっていて、ちょっと驚いてます。

バイト数に直すと・・・・・

文字数に直すと、最大 10,000,000,000 x 140 = 1.4 T 文字。
1 文字あたり、2 byte なら 2.8T byte。
1 T byte ハードティスクなら、３つ分。
３万円だせば、おつりがくるわけだが・・・・・。

色々と凄い時代になったもんだ。

その100憶の発言が蓄積されていくならともかく、 流れ去ってしまう訳でしょ。 発言数より流速を示すべきでは？

Twitter 内部では蓄積されてるんじゃないですか?
各ユーザのアカウントでつぶやきをさかのぼっていくと、最初のつぶやきまで見られます。
Twitter の検索で拾われるのが最近のつぶやきだけだから、流れ去っていくという感覚になってしまいますが。
